October 6, 2017: What do I do when I can no longer believe?
Matthew 14:30 (NIV)
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Mark 9:23-24 (NIV)
23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Romans 10:17 (NIV)
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

What do you do when the questions come fast and furious and you cannot seem to find any good answers? The questions all undermine your faith and they sound so intelligent and reasonable. How does a person who desires to walk with Christ handle all the things that seem to argue against your relationship with Christ?

I have talked with a few this past week who have had their faith shaken to the core in the past month. They once followed Christ with joy and passion but now they are on the fence as to whether they can believe anymore or not.

What do you do when you find yourself sinking in the sea of unbelief and doubt? You follow the example of those in the Scriptures that were in the same situation. Overwhelmed with fear? Cry out, “Lord save me!” Have questions that are causing you to doubt? Cry out, “Lord I believe! Help my unbelief.”

When you have thus cried out then turn to His Word again and read it, but this time read it to commune with him not to just find answers to your questions.

When answers are enough Jesus will always be more than enough.
May the Word of God guide you to commune with your Father in Heaven today.
