February 8, 2018: Where to Find the Kindness of God

Ephesians 2:7 (NIV)
7  in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:11 (NIV)
11  Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men.

Do you want to be free from the fear of God’s judgment?  Do you long to experience the kindness of God? Then I have great news for you today.  There is only one place to find the kindness of God.  If you get to this place you will find eternal everlasting kindness.  No more fear, no more terror, no more being left out when others have been chosen.

Some people complain that they cannot stomach the doctrine of eternal hell and for that reason they jettison their belief in the God of the Bible.  They say that doctrine is too harsh, too judgmental so they forfeit the grace that could be theirs because they refuse to come to God on his terms and believe in him as he reveals himself.

The tragedy of this is that when they reject this knowledge of God they also reject the only source of kindness they could ever know.  God’s kindness is expressed through his Son Jesus.  If you will not have his Son you cannot have his kindness, they come as a package deal.  To reject Jesus is to reject the only kindness you will ever know that lasts.

Paul said it best in Romans 2:5, “Don’t you know that it is the kindness of God that leads us to repentance.”  The kindness of God is not just some random act, or haphazard encounter, it is nothing less than knowing Jesus Christ in his fullness.

It is through Jesus Christ, God’s son, that we come to know and enjoy the kindness of God that will never come to an end.  In need of real kindness today, trust in Christ and find in him all the kindness you will ever need.

Enjoying the Kindness of God through Jesus His Son,

Pastor Phil
