March 4, 2018: The Custom of Our Lord

Mark 10:1 (NIV)
1  Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.

Are you feeling lost in the moral quagmire of confusion?  Is everything you once believed now up for grabs?  Are you experiencing growing doubts about your faith because of the current climate in our culture?  Is there a way out of this quagmire?

Everywhere Jesus went he saw the crowds as harassed and helpless.  He knows the questions and the doubts you have.  He is not unaware of your plight.  In our text today we see great throngs of people following him everywhere.  They keep coming to him at all times of the day and night.

What did they find when they came to Jesus?  He did not hold them at a distance.  He did not lay down a bunch of platitudes and cliches, he actually taught them.  He helped them to discover the truth of his Father.

“As was his custom he taught them.”  What will you find when you draw close to Christ today?  He will not hold you at a distance, he will draw close to you and he will open your eyes and your mind so you can see him.  He has come to open the eyes of the blind.

Having a hard time seeing him right now?  No worries.  Draw close and you will see him again.  He is the only one that can open your eyes so you can see.  Listen to what he teaches and act on it and you will discover new sight you never had before.

Lord, teach that I may see,
