April 19, 2018: The World Will Never Be Enough

Psalm 73:25-26 (NIV)
25  Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. 26  My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

John 10:10 (NIV)
10  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Why do we need Jesus?  This is a fundamental question we must ask ourselves and all those to whom we seek to share Christ.  One of the answers to this fundamental question is that there is a faint echo within each of us that we were made for something more.  There is a longing for something more than this life can possibly ever offer us.

The cry our heart is “I want more!” The rich cry out, “I want more!” The poor surely do.  All that is within man seeks to find something that will ultimately satisfy that deep longing.

Why do we find ourselves constantly running after something more?  Satisfaction is always just out of reach.  Why is this so?

My friend we were made for something better than this universe could possibly satisfy.  We were made to find our satisfaction in God.  If we miss this we miss our eternal satisfaction and will have only eternal unrest to look forward to.

“The Greatest Showman,” released last December includes a song that captures the longing of every human heart.

The song “Never Enough.” says it with such clarity and passion I  included the link to the clip from the movie, “The Greatest Showman”

I hope you will find your soul’s satisfaction in Jesus and in him alone.  He alone can satisfy your longing.

I pray your passion to pursue Christ will be greatly enhanced by listening to the lyrics and realizing that nothing in this world will be enough without Jesus.

The world will never be enough for me, I was made to know Christ,
