Jeremiah 31:33-34 (NIV)
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
There have been times when a person is separated from the one he loves. and to bring comfort, letters are written to share their love with each other over the miles of separation. The letters are received with great affection for they speak the voice of the one they love but it only makes the heart grow more desirous of the time when they will be together again.
Then the day finally arrives and they are reunited, letters are no longer necessary for they have each other. The thrill of knowing each other face to face without any distance is more than hearts can bear when they are with the one they have loved for years and they are finally together.
In this season we have the love letter from our great God and king and we read it often because it reminds us of his love and affection for us. With each page of the letter we read we long for the time when he will be here with us physically, never apart again.
O,m dear saint, cheer up for there is coming a day when we will no longer need anyone to teach us anything from this marvelous book because the person of which this book speaks will be with us never to be apart ever again. O what a day that will be. Let us go now and read some more of this grand letter so we may know him more and more until the day he comes for us.
