April 14, 2020: Not by Might nor by power but by My Spirit.

1 Samuel 14:6 (NIV)

Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, “Come, let’s go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised fellows. Perhaps the LORD will act on our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few.”

They were definitely outnumbered. It was only Jonathan and his armor-bearer against several hundred Philistines. The circumstance looked terrible for Jonathan and his armor-bearer. The son of the king knew better. He understood the nature of the one true God. God is not limited by numbers or by circumstances.

Consider Jonathan’s word of faith in this section of Scripture. “Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or few.” Take a good look at your circumstances today. Are you outnumbered? Do the sights that you see cause your faith to wither away? Why should this be the case? God saves not by circumstances or mighty men. Truth is most times God delivered in the Bible. He did so against all the odds.

Ask yourself this question, “Are the odds against me?” If the answer is yes, it might very well be that God is getting ready to do something far more significant with your faith than ever before. Take a step of faith right now. Do something you know the Lord wants you to do, but you have been afraid to do it.

It might be sharing Christ with your neighbor, friend, family member. It may be to increase your giving to your local church just a little more than you have done in the past. It may be asking God to answer some great prayer you have been praying. This is a day of good news. God wants to show himself to you in more fabulous ways, but you need to take the step to trust Him.

Live like Jonathan, and his armor-bearer did. They decided to go up to the Philistines and wage war against impossible odds. God bless you as you take this step of faith today. Go ahead what have you to lose?

See you on the side of faith walkers.
